A series of violent attacks across the Atlanta metropolitan area has left two women dead and another man critically injured, prompting a major investigation and drawing national attention after one of the victims was identified as a federal employee.
Authorities have charged 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel in connection with the incidents, which unfolded across multiple locations within hours on Monday.

According to investigators, the violence began shortly after 1 a.m. near Decatur, where a woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a hospital but later died. Her identity has not yet been publicly released.
Roughly an hour later, in Brookhaven, a 49-year-old homeless man was shot several times while sleeping outside a grocery store. Police described the attack as random. The victim remains in critical condition.
The third and final attack occurred just before 7 a.m. in Panthersville, where officers discovered 36-year-old Lauren Bullis with gunshot and stab wounds. She died at the scene.
Investigators later confirmed that all three incidents are connected.
Arrest and Charges
The suspect was apprehended during a traffic stop in Troup County, near the Alabama border. He now faces multiple charges, including two counts of murder, aggravated assault, and firearms violations.
Authorities have indicated that at least one of the victims—and possibly more—were targeted at random, raising concerns about public safety.
Federal Response and Political Reaction
The killing of Bullis, who worked for the Department of Homeland Security, prompted a response from Markwayne Mullin, who expressed condolences and described the attacks as “acts of pure evil.”
Mullin also raised questions about the suspect’s immigration history, noting that he became a US citizen in 2022 during the administration of Joe Biden. However, it remains unclear whether any prior criminal history would have affected that process.
Suspect’s Background
Court records show that the suspect previously served in the US Navy, stationed at Naval Base Coronado. In 2024, he pleaded guilty to assaulting police officers and another individual, leading to his discharge from the military.
Additional records indicate a separate misdemeanor conviction related to sexual battery in Georgia.

Bullis was described by colleagues as a dedicated public servant who worked in multiple roles within the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General. She was remembered for her kindness, professionalism, and strong personal connections with coworkers.
Friends and family said she enjoyed running, traveling, and spending time with loved ones, adding that her “warmth and generosity” left a lasting impact on those around her.
