Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly maintaining an unusually comfortable lifestyle inside the federal prison where he is serving his sentence, with fellow inmates allegedly providing cooking, cleaning, laundry and other personal services in exchange for money.
According to four inmates who spent time in the same unit as Combs at Fort Dix federal prison in New Jersey, the music mogul has spent thousands of dollars each month through prison commissary accounts to obtain various services and items.
The accounts, reported by NBC News, describe a prison routine that allegedly includes specially prepared meals, massages and access to prohibited items.
Inmates Allegedly Provide Personal Services
Sources said several inmates perform basic household tasks for Combs, including cleaning his living area, washing clothes and preparing his bed.
One inmate was reportedly paid to clean bathroom and shower areas before Combs used them. Others allegedly prepared special meals such as curry chicken, pizza and empanadas using makeshift cooking equipment.
Another inmate reportedly provided Chinese-style massages.
The inmates who spoke about Combs’ life inside the facility were granted anonymity.
Alleged Access to Contraband Phones and Alcohol
Sources also alleged that Combs has obtained unauthorized cellphones inside the prison. The devices were reportedly used to access social media and view photographs.
Two sources further claimed that Combs has received sexually explicit photographs from a former girlfriend.
According to the report, Combs also allegedly obtained Remeron, an antidepressant medication that is prescribed to some inmates but is reportedly traded illegally within the prison.
Sources additionally described occasions when premium alcohol, including Hennessy, was allegedly smuggled into the facility.
One inmate told NBC News that he had consumed Hennessy with Combs.
The Bureau of Prisons declined to discuss Combs’ individual circumstances, citing privacy and security concerns. The agency acknowledged that contraband, including cellphones, drugs and weapons, remains an ongoing challenge in correctional facilities.
Combs’ Representatives Push Back
A spokesperson for Combs disputed the significance of the reports and argued that media coverage has focused excessively on routine details of his prison life.
The spokesperson said Combs remains incarcerated while his legal team awaits a decision in his appeal.
Combs is serving a 50-month federal sentence after being convicted on two prostitution-related transportation charges. A New York jury acquitted him of more serious racketeering and sex-trafficking allegations.
Fort Dix Faces Ongoing Contraband Problems
The reports about Combs come as Fort Dix has faced repeated investigations involving contraband.
Federal authorities have previously prosecuted people accused of attempting to smuggle cellphones, drugs and other prohibited items into the facility. Investigators have also pursued cases involving drones allegedly used to deliver contraband to the prison.
The facility, located roughly 60 miles southwest of New York City, houses thousands of federal inmates.
Combs Was Sent to Fort Dix for Drug Treatment Program
Combs arrived at Fort Dix following his conviction. His lawyers had sought the facility partly because of its drug treatment program, participation in which can potentially affect an inmate’s sentence under federal rules.
Sources said Combs initially entered the program after arriving at the prison.
However, his situation later changed. NBC News previously reported that he spent time in solitary confinement following a confrontation with another inmate. Sources now say he was subsequently removed from the treatment program.
After leaving solitary confinement, however, sources alleged that Combs again had access to inmates willing to provide services for him.
Prison Life Has Included Other Unusual Episodes
According to the sources, Combs also obtained a modified tablet that allegedly allowed him to watch movies and documentaries.
They said he viewed a Netflix documentary about himself, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, produced by 50 Cent, who has publicly criticized Combs.
Sources also described Combs attracting considerable attention from other prisoners because of his wealth and celebrity status.
One source summarized the dynamic by saying that money can have significant influence inside prison.
Combs continues to serve his federal sentence while his appeal proceeds.
